Which retailers made Consumer Reports' 'Naughty & Nice' list?
Mon Nov 19, 2012
I'm pretty sure that when CompUSA went bankrupt Tiger Direct bought the name. So you have two entries here from the same people, and considering TD's longtime track record it's no surprise they still tend to be a bit "creative" in customer service.
Best Buy to cut 2,400 jobs, including 600 at Geek Squad
Fri Jul 6, 2012
Their problem is like many of today's companies - they are being run by business school graduates who are putting theory into action. Many years back, BB was a legitimate place to buy technology.
We love Whole Foods but shop at Wal-Mart
Wed Apr 4, 2012
Having gone through medical problems which cause my income to be fixed and limited, my main asset is time.
Pahking the cah? Regional accents getting stronger
Fri Sep 9, 2011
While there may be an argument as to whether midwesterners have an accent, we sure don't have any trouble Americanizing foreign words. Thus the Joachim creek is Joe-AK-im. St Louis places and streets include Gravois (GRAV-oize) and Carondelet (Car-ON-dil-et).
Consumer Reports pans new Honda Civic
Mon Aug 1, 2011
I'm shocked that the testers at CR have come back to reality but it looks like their new bandwagon will be the Koreans. At least the Japanese do source some of their content from here in the US, but it doesn't mean it's good for the country.

Fri Jul 8, 2011
Millions of people are out of work, so I have not and never will use self checkout. It might not be a great job, but it's honest work.

Fri Jul 1, 2011
With the excellent new products GM has been putting on the market starting with the Cadillac CTS and up through the new Buicks and Cruze, I was beginning to have high hopes that the corporation had really changed. I've been around the industry most my life and came to believe that parts of GM were t …

Elite eats: Survey names America's favorite burger
Mon Aug 16, 2010
I'm pretty serious about my burgers, so that may be why my list doesn't look anything like the one from the Zagat subscribers. Five Guys makes a good burger (fresh, quality meat) but isn't worth the price.
Dairy Queen: Blizzard-like dessert is a snow job
Wed Jul 28, 2010
The ironic thing is that DQ stole the whole concept from a guy in St. Louis. Ted Drewes was serving a very thick frozen custard with mix-ins back in the 50s. He calls it a Concrete.
